Speaking
I often speak to lawyers about incorporating technology into their practices. The idea is not to simply fiddle with any new gadget or software, but to use technology strategically: to gain an important advantage on behalf of one’s clients.
The practice of law is now primarily an information processing business. The lawyer who processes information more effectively and more efficiently has the advantage. That lawyer will find critical facts faster and at a lower cost to his or her client. To process information better one has to do find new ways of managing the overwhelming flow of data.
Among the topics that I regularly discuss with lawyers are the following:
– Electronic Discovery
– Developing a Paperless Practice
– PDFs in the Law Practice
– How to Develop a Digital Workflow
– Use of Powerpoint in Litigation
– Internet Search Tips
