My approach is a bit different than most lawyers. I use technology wherever possible, to save time and money. I scan all my documents, and use tools like Casemap to organize my cases. My laptop computer holds the equivalent of hundreds of boxes of paper, so I always have my case files with me.

Technology is just one tool that a good lawyer makes use of.  The most important tool is a sound approach to problem solving, finding hidden opportunities and then taking advantage of them. Clients want results, or at least methods that tend to achieve results quickly at minimal cost. Lawyers who waste time with petty squabbles (usually accompanied by pompous language) are not serving their clients, nor the legal system as a whole.

We should always look for ways to save our clients money, even if that means that we make less ourselves. Most of all, though, we need to stop being so focused on tradition, and more open to finding new ways of serving our clients better.
